A third edition of A Story is a Promise and Deep Characterization is now available. This new edition explores how some writers struggle because they make a main character an extension of the author to act out personal issues. A short video about the new work is available; a longer video is included with the book.

Willamette Writers is one of the largest writer's groups in Oregon, and their new web site offers a number of links to other writer's groups and organizations.

The Publishing Law Center has 19 articles on legal issues of concern to publishers, editors and authors. These articles cover contracts, copyright, fair use, public domain, subsidiary rights, electronic rights and more.

Writers on the Net offers tutoring, literary mentors, classes, writer's groups. A good site to connect with other writers.

Novelists, Inc. is an organization composed of working novelists who have had at least two novels published. Organized to be a site that offers an opportunity for working novelists to meet and share information, the material on the site offers some great insights for all writers. Recommended to anyone working on a novel.
