A Story is a Promise: On DVD

On this one-hour DVD Bill Johnson reads from a number of well-known books and talks about several popular movies to take viewers into the heart of what a story is, a promise made to an audience, and a promise kept.

This DVD includes examples and diagrams (not available in the workbook) to help writers understand whether a sentence is dramatically suggestive, too obvious, or obscure. There are also diagrams that help explore the role of conflict in a story.

Bill Johnson is a published author, produced playwright, optioned screenwriter and story analyst.
